General Store - Geneseo Historical Museum

Home / General Store

The General Store Exhibit is a year-round display containing items on shelves from early stores in Geneseo. This room would have originally been used as a study or office when the home was built in 1855.

There is a large, “seed case” that was sold from one store keeper to another as places changed owners and store fronts. The General Store highlights a “pot belly” stove that was made by the Hamilton Stove Company in Geneseo.
